Dear Dance

Dear Dance,

Thank you.

Thank you for raising me

showing me a new world,

one where words are not needed to know beauty is staring me in the face.

For teaching me to fly, even though I have no wings.

You created for me a life full of music,

of movements taking me someplace enchanting every day.

With you there is adventure,

there is mystery

and there is passion I never would have known had I not grown up with you.

I have been broken at times,

shattered by life's unavoidable flaws-

but your grasp refuses to let me fall.

Every time, you pick me back up

and push me on into the unknown that is life.

I must admit it is terrifying at times.

there were plenty of tears.

Plenty of scars.

And I am sure many more to come.

But all my sorrow would disappear as soon as I started your Dance again.

You shaped me and saved me

all because you saw something inside my soul that told you I could do it.

I met you… and I saw something that I could never live without.

So I grabbed on like a lifeline.

And I will never let go.

My life is a dance,

and I plan to be enthralled with every step I take.

Thank you. Thank you for everything.

Sincerely,

The one who found a home in you
