Dear Dance,
Grande Plie, Tondo, Releve,
Plie, Tondo, Releve,
Demi Plie, Tondo, Releve.
Rest. Although there is no true rest we stop.
Chasse is the dancers walk,
Stomach in, Chin up, Tuck, Tuck, Tuck, Pull up
Release, the myth we pause momentarily to breathe, only to burst into movement when the music starts again.
Dance, the jealous spouse. Isn't she beautiful?Look at her, marvel at her beauty and elegance as she demands every ounce of your being.
Day in, Day out, the constant pirouette of practice.
Slaving away at the barre with permanently pointed toes, to perfect the perfect pointe technique.
A little higher, a little sharper, a little faster, a little softer
Dance, the abusive spouse.
Dance, the beautiful demise, the pain that will liquify the conscience and heighten all other senses.
