Dear Daughter

I hope you come into the world kicking and crying,

a born fighter.

I hope your father becomes your rock,

teasing you with sugary sweet pet names.

I hope his belly laughs make you giggle,

so hard you can't stop.

I hope no one ever breaks your heart

that took me 9 months to make, how could it be broken just like that?

I know you're stronger than this world.

I hope you're born into a world better than mine,

a world that loves you,

that encourages you to reach for the stars.

I hope you become my world,

my pride and joy,

the apple of my eye.

Love,

Mom
