dear death

dear death

you lie in the dark

waiting, never resting

for years you walk behind us

thinking the next step might be our last

you strike fear into the hearts of the strongest

and break the hearts of the weak

we run hoping to get away

but slowly you tread behind

until we lose our breath

and collaspe to the ground

we become weak and brittle

not strong enough to move

at this time we welcome you with open arms

because we can no longer live on
