Dear Death

Dear Disease,

Are you surprised that I would write back?

with the weak and infurerating body you bestowed to me,

waves of cold threads being dragged over it so often.

When I fall to my knees, are you satisfied?

Looking to my future I see more and more deadends,

not a road to venture down.

Did you enjoy abducting my childhood?

Holding me hostage within walls that keep closing in,

giving me no space to breathe.

I know the pain is not going away, but I can control my heart and mind.

I know that failure is not in my future.

I will fight back, as many have done before me.

I will prove that a body can not hold you back.

I will break your chains that you locked me in since the age of 13.

Now, just watch

Love,

A Fighter
