Dear Depression

Dear Depression

For years you've dissuaded me from things I need to do

You convinced me to cope with slits down my wrists

Popping pills hoping for peace

Scars show our years of fighting

And I hate you

Between the happy pills and dissociation I lost my childhood

Ruining my relationships

Old and new

Before they got to know me

Or after they saw you

I can’t stand you and I wish you would vanish

But sadly I’m stuck with you

Sadly you won’t leave
