Dear Depression

Dear Deppression,

You have pulled me to a very dark place

One I shall never wish to return

You have given me comfort in the storm

And helped me traverse the seas of hatred

As I make my way back to the place I was before

Where I am greeted with smiling faces

An as soon as I think I have won

Those faces churn

Creating only nightmares

While you crawl out of your hole

Clawing and grabbing at me

Pulling me down to the depths of despair

Ruining my triumph with your cold whispers of death

Death of emotion to which can never be repaired

But your whispers are so familiar

(Whispers) welcome back

What have I done?

Where is everyone?

Why aren’t my friends helping?

(Whispers)Are they even your friends?

Of course they are

They will come for

I’ll just sit here and wait

(Whispers) they aren’t coming

Yes they will

 I know they will

(Whispers) Will they?

Yes they will I know it

As I sit down a vision is shown

My “friends” are walking past

I reach out

But there are so far

WHY DO YOU SHOW ME THIS NIGHTMARE?

(Whispers) I am showing you the truth

THIS ISN’T RIGHT

Visions start running threw me

All I have accomplished

They rot away

Turning to dust only to be swept away but you (depression)

Why don’t you just leave me alone?

But I am you….
