Dear Depression..

Dear Depression,

You showed yourself to me for the first time in the summer of 2016, July 23rd.

You came to me like an explosion of hurt and pain.

You made me feel sad and alone.

You made me feel hatred for the first time in my life.

Hatred towards everything.

My family.

My friends.

My goals.

My dreams.

My LIFE.

Hatred towards you.

I hate how you made me feel.

I hate that you made me turn my back on my friends and family.

I hate that you actually made me think that the world would be better off without me.

I hate that it's now 2018 and your still here.

I hate that I haven't had a good night's sleep in almost 2 years.

I hate the person you've turned me into.

I hate that you took away my happiness, my sunshine.

I HATE YOU.

I hate that I wasn’t strong enough to stop you…

However, Im still standing.

You may have knocked me down but,

You WON’T knock me out.

And that I love.

Sincerely,

     Iyana Player
