Dear Depression.

Dear Depression,

I want to share my collection

My collection of thoughts

Thoughts of the way my happiness rots

I wasn't always this way

When people ask if I am, “okay”

I smile and I say, “yes”

Yes, instead of making my life a total mess.

A mess of questions on how I am.

If some lady at, well, walmart ask if I am okay I’ll say, “yes, ma’am.”

Yes, because I can’t bring myself to say no.

I can not let anyone know

That inside I am not okay,

Ever since that one day that one day in may

That day they told me you were within me

Depression please just let me go free

They put me on antidepressants

Yet I still have remnants,

Remnants of your darkness

I had to become like an actress

Acting is if I am fine

I just want to resign!

Dear Depression,

This is not fun.

Sincerly,

Me
