Dear Depression

Dear dEpreSSion

I saw you called today

Sorry for ignoring you

But I am no longer available to play

I no longer want to hear one word you have to say

I see you left a message

I’m sure you made it pleasant

Offering just enough incentive that I respond to you

However I’ve changed a bit and I’m not falling for you

I’m sure you will try again

Offering a more alluring spin

Using my own mind to get in

Pretending we are the best of friends

Hear the good news

NEVER AGAIN!

Never again will you be my god

Never again will you numb my heart

Never again will you make my life hard

Never again will you tear my relationships apart

No more will I sit and cry for no reason

Cold hearted through every single season

Forcing me to pretend I am happy

Praying to God no one will need me

The days are over of pretending I am not home

As I sit in the dark all alone

You’ve had your day

You’ve done your damage

And today I take authority

My mind has changed

I’ve endured the pain

And now the lights are on

Your days of torment are dead and gone

So just leave me alone

You will no longer hinder me

I will not be held back by your tactics

I will not support you with my habits

I right now denounce your reign of terror

I have been made victorious – I AM A CONQUOROR!
