Dear Pluto,
I have danced around the serpents’ tail,
For as long as I can remember.
My legs were nothing but out of bounds,
Safe from benevolent terrors that swallowed me whole.
Everything is a dazzling disaster,
How everything is still in its place,
After so many years.
It is so intricately funny,
How midnight became my best friend,
How my headphones became my longtime social worker,
How my car became my therapist’s office;
Only the serpents see the cave.
Sincerely,
The Reincarnation
