Dear Failure

Dear Failure,

Why can’t we get used to you…

Lurking over our every decision

To nose-dive in to our lives.

Sometimes briefly

And sometimes over long periods of time,

But the thing is,

You’re always a greedy surprise

Leaving me void of certainty

But filling me with doubt

Mixing chaos and corruptive thoughts

And leaving no route

No friend to come with us

No room for resuscitation

You’re a gluttonous grouch

And we try to live you out

Why can’t we get use to you?

Even with practice

We still get weaker

As you tussle with our confidence

Making us grow meeker

So we can hide in the dejection of your shadow

Enough with your shadiness

We’re being brutally honest

We’re done looking for ways to blend into your darkness

Instead we shine our lights from below you

To acknowledge your evil presence

And leap above and beyond you

It is time for you to blend into the brightness

And learn from your own lies

Failure…

You have failed

Sincerely,

Your tries
