Dear father

Dear father, You were always there From the time of birth From the time of school From the time of college The past can’t be changed Past problems can’t be changed Neither can certain emotions be changed Nor can your way of thought Throughout my life I noticed you do things your way No one can change how you do things they can only hop on the train with you I know that you’ve forged the tools that I now use to get through life You forged my way of thought, my vernacular, my style I can’t thank you enough Even though the bridge to speak to you has since been burned I still want you to know that I still love you even though you never see things from my side My thoughts, and my side of situations can never be brought into the light I’m always in your shadow I can never speak up I can never show you how I feel As you say emotions don’t matter, but they do sometimes I know my words will never reach you But when I move on and start to live my life Just know that you will always be there as my soul my center I know you will always be there till the end When the end comes I will take after you and be the center of my child’s life
