Dear Father

When a picture focuses,

The backround is blurry.

Depression put that camera focus on everything,

And it's in no hurry.

The day you died the camera took its picture,

And I became its focus.

I wish I had some kind of choice in this.

You were the only family I've ever had,

And no one can replace you dad.

I went to the hospital crying and a mess,

You told me "baby girl I'm coming home go rest".

Nothing anymore seems real,

And I've been taking cold showers just to feel.

So, I'm left here with this photo I didn't take,

This has to be a mistake.

I started carrying around your photo,

To try and make my own more complete.

If I could I would photoshop myself out of this picture,

And hit delete.

I'm surrounded by this world I never knew,

I'm so lost without you.
