Dear Fear of Mine:

Dear Fear of Mine,

How you blaze across the sky,

I concede to your concern—but this passion in me burns—

and this doubt is nothing but a lie—

I will fly

I will fly!

You slip inside my head at night

when I lay my head to sleep—I will not weep!

Not fall so deep

For my dreams will all take flight

I will fight

Oh, I will fight.

You whisper of such doubt,

Deapite all that I have done—I shine in the sun!

Your whispers become shouts

You want me to fall about

But I am far from done

I will win...

You’ll see I won.

You are the voice inside my head,

I recognize you as my enemy, I see—

You are the darkest part of me,

Who speaks only of what could happen wrong,

Yours is a dirge and not a song

But I am strong!

I am strong!

So leave me, Fear of Mine,

Step away, and let me try,—I will blaze across thissky

Lit from within, you will end as I begin,

I will leave you far behind,

Because I will shine!

I will shine!
