Dear Foster Care

Dear Foster Care,

You help kids who are in pain.

I was blessed, an innocent soul,

Nurtured by you like a flower to the sun

Kindly you killed the monsters by my bed

Your body protected me, from the world’s flaws.

What plague does the sickly world carry,

If not the cursed minds of my parents

Without falter, you commanded with pride

Begone, you say, while I hide behind.

Leave the bed, you dared not to.

Leaving me would be naught a death sentence to you.

I cannot be more thankful, for I am alive

Not ever shall I feel scared in the home of a loving human,

Not ever shall I put criticism to you.

For you are my perfect home.

My escape from a life that would have lead to my death.

I hate you,

Foster Care Victim.
