Dear Future Husband

Dear future Husband,

Please be patient with me.

I am learning to love myself,

Therefore I cannot yet give you my heart freely.

Dear future husband,

Please know that I care.

I might withdraw from you at times,

But that's because I'm battling my fears.

Dear future Husband,

I want to give you children.

I want to nurture and treasure our babies,

But I'm scared that since I barely love me I might not love them.

Dear future Husband,

I want to submit to you.

But I've been at war with myself for decades,

So I'm not sure if that's even something I can do.

Dear future Husband,

I want to stand by your side.

I'm scared to trust another,

But everything inside me wants to be your bride.

Dear future Husband,

Please wait for me.

I know I am a difficult lock to open,

But I'm hoping you are the key.
