Dear Future Husband

Dear Future Husband,

8 year old me would have sworn that you’d be the prince from Cinderella or ride in from horseback and sweep me off my feet and ride into the sunset for the happily ever after every girl desires but 17 year old me isn’t so sure. Maybe you are tall, dark and handsome but as time goes on, that doesn’t seem so important.

Looks only go as far as physical attraction. Having a big heart, love for serving others, how you treat people, those things make you so much more than perfect in my eyes. I want to fall in love with your heart  and your vulnerability.

I want you to be so brutally honest with me that you’re afraid the truth will make me run for the hills but the reality is, I don’t care about who you were. I care about who you claim to be and who you aspire to be.

The old you, all your past mistakes, they won’t change how I see you because the present you is beyond perfect and will be the one in a million in my eyes.

Dear future husband,

Maybe you won’t be prince charming to the world but in my eyes, you’ll be so much more.

Xoxo,

Your Future Wife
