Dear Future Me

Dear past me,

Cut the tough girl act, you know you’re vulnerable. You hide underneath a layer of skin tattooed with a snarl. The kind of tattoo that scares away all the bullies and freaks. Of-course, you know everything comes with a price, and the debt of one less Peron in your life isn’t much to ask for the social safety you deserve. However, like a reedy pimp, the price becomes greater and greater and soon your friends begin to drop like flies being drowned in a heavy smog of bug spray. You say you don’t mind as more and more people leave you, yet our heart still aches long after the slamming of a metaphorical door that closes after each ended friendship. You’ve forgotten about the long hours you’ve stayed up crying after another ‘dumb boy’ stops replying to your messages and the beatings taken by close friends and family members because you just had to take out the anger on someone, but it’s okay, really! You’re ok.

                                                                                                                                                Sincerely, future me.
