Dear Future Me

Dear Future Me,

So you have a little more experience

Not sure if mom would say you have a little more drive

I see that the spark came back in your eyes

I write this as a senior still as SSSAS

The wretched college process is giving me hives

In case you have magically forgotten what it's like to me 17 year old me let me remind you:

Mom is on your case stressing about college

Dad watches from afar not wanting you to leave

We're counting down the days

How is mom? Do you still text her with daily updates? Does dad still tell corny stories?

Do you miss coming home to Grandpa having cooked dinner?

Here's some advice Future Me...

Mom only wants to see you do better than she did,

Dad will always look at you as his little girl no matter how old you are

(It's annoying I know, but life wouldn't be the same without it)

They're getting old, you know

Take care of them for me because I didn't do such a swell job now

Make sure they're happy becuase that's all they ever wanted for us.

-XOXO

Hari (well...17 year old me)
