Dear Future Me…
Dear Future me, I hope you are well
As you can remember I’m not doing swell.
I’ve got debt to my ears,
And I can’t see through my tears.
Classes are hard and I can’t breathe
Because I can’t help but seethe
My life is being eaten, although I whine.
It’s being eaten by this thing called time.
I can’t seem to catch it and make it stop
For I fear I’m about to drop.
Dear Future me, I am tired and groggy
Thinking that life is folly
Time goes by here and there
But I wish to stop and stare
Life seems to race so quickly
Even if college life is rather sticky
Moths in wallets everywhere
One cannot help but despair
Oh future me, can you not see?
I need your advice desperately.
Dear Future me, I made a mistake
I felt my confidence shake.
For I will not graduate in time
And now I can’t even try.
My wallet is empty and yet I still
Have a hungry debt to fill!
My tears are all that I carry,
Because my life’s gotten scary.
Oh please future me,
Can you not remember my plea?
