Dear Future or Younger Self

You are not who you were yesterday
You're not even who you are right now is what I say
Just live in the the moment because here is where you should stay.

This life is temporary
So stop all the worries, it's unnecessary
You can't change the past, why would you want to?
It made you better cause you learned what not to do.

You're not meant to always get things right
You're gonna mess up, today, tomorrow, and maybe tonight
That doesn't make you a bad person, I'm just tryna give you some insight
Life is about obstacles, struggles, and putting up a fight.

Everyone isn't perfect and neither are you
It's not a bad thing, it's just true.
Being yourself is all you ever knew
So why change now, you're tryna impress who?

Just love yourself and others will do the same
Give them something to respect other than your name.
What you feel shouldn't cause you to be ashamed
But wanting to be like others is so lame.

Being like them, causes you to follow
Which is a promise that's hollow
Because no one knows where they're going
and causing your life to be drastically slowing.

All I'm saying is love who god made you to be
He isn't disappointed in what he sees.
He sent people to help you here on earth
So just appreciate the life he gave you from your very birth.
