Dear Future self

I hope that your happy

 To have seen the world

To have traveled and visited all the locations that you could ever think of

To have not merely seen but to have been apart of the world

To know both extreme happiness and extreme despair.

To have experienced anything and everything

Me and you, we were always the eccentric type

Once we fall for something we fall hard

It was always all or nothing for me and you

And because of that we sometimes forgot how to enjoy life

Don’t forget to cherish the moment

Because it is in the moments that one truly feels that they exist.

You did not settle for short-term euphoria

even when your mother, your father, your friends, your acquaintances

and the world told you to be content.

No, you went and saw the stars, not through a telescope but up close and personal.

You ventured places that no man would even conceive of exploring.

You explored what was thought to be impossible

But the best thing was that you did not give up

I like that about you. Although it drove everyone crazy.

I hope that you're not yet tired of the world

There is still far too much to see, explore, and experience

Don’t take no for an acceptable answer

It is never too little too late to start another adventure.

    Keep dreaming and never stop

But don’t dream too much because it is, in reality, can we perfect our dreams.

I see that you haven’t changed

I see that your love of life and all that it is has not cessed

I see you fearless, humble, and innovative before me

In you, I see a better me

       Dear future self

When you read this letter you may have already forgotten

           But don’t forget, don’t forget

I hope that when you read this that you will remember me.
