Dear Girl

Dear Girl

You are ripe right now.

You are bright right now.

Everything feels so right right now. Dear Girl

You are ripe right now.

You are bright right now.

Everything feels so right right now.

Enjoy right now.

Because soon,

it will be tomorrow,

next week,

next year.

You'll grow tits,

an opinion,

hair,

And muscle.

And a hate,

for all the men,

A hate for those who wanted you-

For all the wrong reasons.

You’ll forget about your baby dolls,

your flower dresses,

But you’ll always want the ice cream in the freezer.

It will never stop torturing you.

You’ll replace your dolls-with makeup brushes

And dresses- a black skirt.

You’ll lock yourself in your bathroom,

Eat carrots till you barf.

The fucking ice cream still teasing you.

Your childhood will slowly drip away,

Like water on a glass of diet coke.

You are a diet coke

Once frothy and refreshing.

But your bubbles will go flat-

With every swipe of your thumb to the next instagram it girl.

Your taste will turn stale

With every man that turns out to be the same dick head.

your chill will warm.

When you realize,

Life

Is

Overrated.

Luke warm.

All these things,

You loose.

The more years,

The less you know.

You stop being a girl,

but you never stop,

holding on so tight,

to the desire,

to  be wanted.

To love.

To be touched.

To live.

To matter in someone else’s eyes.

Besides your moms.

OH!

Dear woman.

Look in the mirror,

And see the girl-

you were.

The girl you are.

Care for her.

She is bright.

She is ripe.

And she deserves love.

Love her,

Hold her,

Touch her,

Need no one,

live

Forever.

Enjoy right now.

Because soon,

it will be tomorrow,
