Dear Girl I Used to Love (I'm Sorry We Never Talk Now)

Eyes.
Gold specks in blue skies.
Cry. Why. Try. Lie. Die. Sky.
Up so high.
I wait to die.
Tears in my eyes.
"I'm fine" I lie.
"Why can butterflies not see their wings? Why can you not see the beauty within?"

Eyes.
Green foam in silver gin.
Grin. Win. Sin. Skin. Spin.
Round and round till we all fall down.
Win the battle, lose the war, find out what is worth fighting for.
Plastic grin on your face, comes and goes without a trace.
Broken skin, kill it within, how can you fight yourself and still live?
Lord, save me, I have sinned. Or at least that's what they say. But Lord if I lay with a girl, will you love me anyways?

Eyes.
Dark chocolate and caramel droplets.
Locket.
Your heart I mean. Trust me when I say it's safer unseen.
To fall in love is to fall apart at the seams.
Oh look at me: an empty shell of what I used to be.
You did this to me. I convinced myself this was what love should be.
But love should be love and this was all pain.
Hell was my home in those fatal few days where you slept at the hospital and I wrote you those notes
Signed I love you at the bottom but you never did know that I meant like they mean in it the movies and I meant like break up with him for me.
And now too much time has passed to try and regain this
And I can't try and love someone else because my heart has been yours since back when we both were still well
And i wonder if you still love me like I love you

And are my eyes the sight you fall asleep to?
Probably not
My eyes are just broken shards of glass, that cut when they dilate

Maybe that's why it hurts to keep them open so late.
Anyways, you wouldn't fall asleep at the thought of them because all eyes are beautiful and mine the exception.
