Dear God
Dear God,
Sometimes I try to understand your power,
But every time you trample me like a flower.
I'm just curious!
But you always seem furious.
What did I do wrong?! Why do bad things happen to good people?
And still, you expect them to enter a church with a steeple?
I read the bible every day,
But all I read in Isiah is about doomsday anyway.
What kind of God punishes His Children?
And tells them 1,000 things that are forbidden.
Whenever I call out to you in prayer,
It's like you don't even care!
You laugh and mock me for my stupidity.
It just tears and pulls me like gravity.
Why God have you forsaken me?
Simply knowing that my prayers are heard, would be all I need to know.
But I guess that would just be breaking the status quo.
And another thing,
When I was 16, my mom was in a car accident, and you are the one that pulled the string.
I have never felt so much pain.
It wasn't something I could contain.
You are not a loving God, and I want to know why.
Why is your heart solid ice, and not a monarch butterfly?
This is my last hope,
Because I'm so tired of walking the tightrope.
Please.
I'm begging you one last time before I collapse
to my knees.
God? Are you really there?
Please show me that you care.
Love your devoted, yet troubled daughter,
Shaylee
