Dear God, Is it you?
Dear God,
Is it you who helps me sleep at night? Is it you who tucks me into bed as you read me stories with the serenity of your presence and your voice? God is it you who makes sure I will be okay? The only who guides me through the thorns that constantly poke me under my feet? Is it you who heals the wounds I’ve gotten from the thorns, and you who has made me find a new path in life where I walk through cotton candy and glide on silky smooth sand? I am getting older. I should know better, know better than to keep walking on the thorns. But you, God, you make me realize those thorns won’t kill me. Those thorns won’t even really hurt me. Those thorns will teach me, they are a part of me. As long as I live I will walk on those thorns. It’s you who gives me the resilience to come back from the thorn-filled paths and into the safety of the smooth ones. It’s you, but God will you always be there? Hold my hand in this journey. I’m begging you.
Sincerely,
Your Daughter
