Dear Grandpa

Dear Grandpa,

You were the last of my grandparents. I never knew grandma, and sometimes I dream what'd be like if you and her were here. I wish I was able to say goodbye to you, that last week of being in the hospital. I wish you quit smoking because maybe you could be here, right now. You can lead me in the right direction because

I have been on the wrong path ever since you died. I have given up hope over these years. I thought that maybe, somehow, you might come back. You never did. But I gave in. My life was different after you left it. It was meant to be. But either way, it has changed so much since then. have grown older, and more mature. I have switched to a new school and now I'm a freshman in high school. I'm no longer that seven-year-old little girl, who loved the color pink, who ran around and played, stuck in a bubble of innocence and pureness. A bubble of obliviousness. A bubble covered with a blindfold, only able to see the partial truth and world we once lived in. But the blindfold came off after you left. Then, I was able to see the truth about everything. It came at me slowly, but the blindfold was gone. Your death marked an absence in my life and soon after, my best friend, Sandy died. She was the best pet I ever had and helped me with my adjustment to being in a new family. And slowly after, my world tumbled in. I try to surround myself with good people and keep faithful. I miss you so much grandpa and I wonder what would it'd be like if you were here.
