Dear Heartbreak

Dear heartbreak,

Shall I compare thee to a winters night?

Your grace and beauty has a freezing grip.

Time with your love traps me into your bite,

And your numb hands take my heart with a rip.

You once glowed with angelic ecstasy,

But your glow is none and so am I.

We once thought our love was a felony.

At one point your ardency stole my eye.

Was it that your heart did not sing with mine?

Or was it that we sang the wrong tune?

From dawn to dusk we walked a clashing line.

We left each other like a wilted prune,

But it was what you could not truly see.

That everything that went wrong was me.

Sincerely,

A heart that has been broken one too many times.
