dear home

dear future me,

                 it is time

                           to move again

                                       but do not fear

this military life

                  of constant change

                                          is good.

when your body

                   is filled with sorrow

                                          and the tears fall

remember the good

    remember the growth.

dear north carolina,

         you gave me life

you gave me family

dear virginia,

         you taught me to dance

you taught me to play

dear rhode island,

         the meaning of quick

you helped me define

north carolina,

         i returned to you

and with you i grew

dear florida,

         you tested my joy

but grew my faith

pennsylvania now holds me

         but soon

florida yet again

i will one day

         find a home.
