Dear Honey
September twenty third,
is when I received the word,
a life is growing inside me,
I cried and had a panic attack,
because I was disappointed you see,
A sophomore in college,
Double major as well,
becoming pregnant was something no one could tell,
Should I keep honey?
I have no choice,
I did, but I couldn't fathom the voice,
of me ever terminating this pregnancy,
it would've left a void so deep in my heart,
my body would shut down and never restart,
over time I realized Honey is a blessing,
and everything I endured was a lesson,
Do I quit school? No
Finish for Honey,
Do I act cool? No
You'll soon have no money,
Honey, at 9 weeks,
I heard your heartbeat,
and it was the sweetest sound I'd heard,
at 16 weeks, I saw you moving,
and shortly got the word,
It's A Girl!
Exactly what I wanted you to be,
So I can raise you to be better than me,
Honey you are my life,
You are all that matters,
you are not here yet,
but I've imagined the pitter patters,
of your little feet on our kitchen floor,
that you will adore,
I will birth my Honey in May,
The sweetest child I'll know,
I cannot wait until the days,
I can experience you grow,
Your father and I are doing everything we can,
you will have a better life,
it's a promise from us to you,
you won't see us in strife,
You've changed me so much,
I cannot wait to feel your touch,
When I hear your cry I know I will tear up,
I have dreamt of you Honey,
With curly hair and a toy bunny,
You make all my blue skies grey,
and I will never allow anyone to take you away,
from me,
I know you are in the safest place that you will ever be,
that safe place is mommy's womb,
the warm dark place you're in now,
pretty soon you will enter this world,
there will be bright lights and a crowd,
I will protect you in every single way I can,
because Lord knows I love you,
and your dad man,
Honey, thank you,
for changing me,
I am 23 weeks currently,
awaiting my next appointment to see,
you,
in my eyes you are perfect,
and everything I'm going through is worth it,
I will be your best friend,
until the very end,
Don't ever hesitate to talk to me,
don't ever hesitate to talk to your daddy,
we love you more than you will ever know,
and our discipline is how we'll show that everything in this world,
is not what it seems,
keeps your friends close and enemies closer,
The three of us are a team,
You can always count on me,
for any and everything my sweet Honey,
and your dad is who you go to when you want some money,
He spoils me,
so he'll spoil you too,
as long as your grades are good there will be nothing you can't do,
Princess,
Honey,
You are sweet to me forevermore,
do not ever do anything alone,
come knock on my door,
I will never ever hurt you,
you are my most prized possession,
and for 18 years,
You will be our families latest obsession,
You are the new edition to our family Honey,
The last baby for a while,
sure to unite us all,
and fill the room with smile,
I intend to give you love and guidance,
look to me to confide in,
any day the sky is sunny,
remember who you are Honey,
You are beautiful,
powerful,
strong, you'll see,
you are all these things because your mother ,
is Me,
I love you baby girl.
