Dear Humanity
Dear Humanity,
You terrify me. You are nothing and everything all at once. A tiny, insignificant species born from the deserts in Africa with no claws or teeth with which to fight. You lacked all the grace of nature. It’s a miracle you survived. But here you are.
And now. Now you have become something more. You have set yourself apart from your companions here on earth. You have developed an intelligence that is lethal, you have taken spoken words and shaped new worlds. You learned to paint time and space. You faced disease and famine. Its miracle you survived. But here you are.
And now. Now you have cured the incurable. You have learned to fly and live at the bottom of the ocean. You have torn the world apart in your hatred and greed. You have sent millions to die meaningless deaths for you, rained fire from the skies to shatter cities, sent fumes to indiscriminately choke the life out of those whose only crime was being there. It’s a miracle you survived. But here you are.
And now. Now you have tread on the moon. You have learned more about the laws of our existences than any other creature on this planet. You have pumped poison into our air and water, stripped our home of its bounty and you have finally figured out how to destroy yourself. It’s a miracle you survived.
But here you are, as ugly as you are beautiful. If you are not careful, I’m afraid you won’t be here much longer.
Best Regards,
One of Your Own
