Dear Insecurity
Dear insecurity,
You were there for me when I was alone
You stood by when my tears overflowed
My mirror had you written across my reflection
As I ran deeper into my depression
It took me years to see I was your pet in a cage
Did you think you can keep me in chains?
You drew your sword
And I drew my shield
You were a friend until I realized your betrayal
You said I couldn't find my way
But you were wrong
I’m stronger without you and you knew it
You were afraid and now that I won
You can never take my throne
From,
The one that got away
