Dear Insecurity
Dear Insecurity,
She is the definition of stunning
Her skin, as clear as day
Her smile, as bright as the sun
Her hourglass figure, with hips that don’t lie
Her hair, full and thick
A princess known for her beauty
Me, I am no such thing
I’m a walking dictionary
A history buff
A wizard with my hands
My mind is my palace
Why can’t people see my beauty?
Is beauty really only skin deep?
Does beauty trump brains?
No, I am beautiful
Inside and out
I may not the world’s form of beauty
But what will I gain from being physically beautiful?
Admiration, Envy, Being Accepted
In a couple of years what would that give me?
Nothing, External beauty is not permanent
But my mind is forever
Something wrong with this poem?
