Dear Life,

A short 18 years is what I’ve endured, And still your purpose remains so obscured. I ponder relentlessly “Why am I here?”, Until I fall asleep and my thoughts disappear. But those thoughts come back at the first break of light when I’m staring at the sun rise from a long night. In that instant I can relate in every way with the sun and its rising and falling every day. “Why do I rise? Why do I fall?” “Am I alive for any reason at all?” “Maybe there’s no point. Or maybe life’s a test.” No matter what it is, I’ve lived you to my best. You’ve thrown your obstacles and your hardships at me, but you’ve also made me strive to be as resilient as I can be. You've taught me strength and the importance of perseverance. And that when it comes to love there's no stronger adherence. I know a few people who gave up on you, one was eighteen, one was twelve, and they bid you adieu. It took the loss of two loved ones for me to see just how delicate and fragile that you can be. And for that reason, you are the one I cherish most, and will continue to cherish until I’m nothing but a ghost. As time flies by I learn more of your value, and remind myself that I can't live without you. But that still doesn't change the fact that you're a mystery, a beautiful struggle with years worth of history. Maybe one day I’ll understand why I was born to live and live to die. A short 18 years is what I’ve endured, And still your purpose remains so obscured. I ponder relentlessly “Why am I here?”, Until I fall asleep and my thoughts disappear.
