Dear Life
Dear Life,
Why do you torture us?
Everyday a struggle,
for our sanity, our health,
our lives, ourselves.
Everyday a fight,
to do what is expected of us,
to claw our way through to a happy ending we don't get.
Everyday a wasted effort,
everything leading to nothing,
every action granted only a negative reaction,
every sacrifice made in utter vain.
Everyday worthless,
because in the end we never win.
So, why do you torture us with our existance?
Why do you allow us all to be
if you are only here to make us suffer?
Why do you grant us this "gift",
if you promise to take it away?
Why do you doom us to an existance of pain and suffering?
Why did you allow us to be
if we are one day not going to be?
Please, Life, explain this to me
because I cannot comprehend why I am
when tommorrow I might not be.
I don't understand.
So please, please, help me understand,
because I can't find a single reason to exist
when I am doomed to suffer.
