Dear Little Sister

Dear Little Sister,

The words “though she be but little she is fierce” have never been more true

I swear, Shakespeare must have been talking about you.

Somehow you manage to tackle the world

With a smile on your face and fists uncurled.

As you grow older please promise me this,

Never ignore optimism’s kiss.

Life can stretch you out, wear you down, beat you up.

But, please, never ever give up.

Don’t forget how to dance lightly through each room,

Always stop and smell every lovely bloom.

Cling tightly to your innocent soul,

And surround yourself with those who support your goals.

Remember that your happiness is foremost and first,

Even if sometimes you feel rather cursed.

And, finally, if nothing else,

Simply stay true to your true self.

Love,

A
