Dear lola

Dear Lola,

I hate that you had to leave
It still hurts every time I see your picture
And mom cries when she thinks of you
I loved how you knew when we needed you
And you would always run to our side
I still think I see you in the corner of my eye
But when I turn,
you’re gone
It’s been months but I still call your name
You’ve been with me for so long
It’s hard to accept that you’re gone
You were my comfort
You were my friend
You were always there
You stuck through it all with us
From start to finish
You brought us friends who turned into family
You brought us happiness
You were a beacon of light in our home
You were a constant reminder that we could survive
You were the last one left
But your job was done
You were loyal until the end
My sweet dog Lola
