Dear Love
I can trust that you will never hurt me because you are at one with yourself,
You came at time where I was gone and out,
And I was scared to see what love was about,
You've shown me not to be afraid to give you my heart,
Because I have to let love play its part,
I have to let love cherish, hold, and beautify me,
Without you I'm not sure where I would be,
You taught me to fight through tears, heartache, and depression,
If it wasn't for you I probably would have lost myself, but my horizons broadened,
You showed me the true meaning of loving someone,
Before you I was never willing to listen,
My mind was shut closed from love, you couldn't try to convince me to open it up,
And it had nothing to do with my many breakups,
But thanks to you I found a love worth fighting for,
How is it possible that you became my cure,
Because before you love and I were at war,
So I'm writing you this love letter so you can understand how I feel,
Before you I believed that love was unreal,
You told me to never be afraid to love you,
And I did just that because I was tired of feeling blue,
You became a love that loved me even more,
A year later we brought a child into the world, this precious one I grew to adore,
Every time I look at her I see you and me,
How is it that you and I created such a beautiful baby?,
She is a part of us,
And to have her in our lives will always make me speechless,
Without your love she would not be possible,
You've been faithful,
So for that I'm forever grateful,
Never could call you a dawg, a nothing ass, or a dead beat,
Because you was never cheating or whoring around in the streets,
So as I put an end to this love letter,
I want you to know that I will love you forever,
It's really rare that you can find your soulmate these days,
But I guess I did because you came my way.
