Dear Lyric
Dear Lyric ,
Your name alone is music to my ears/
Mama loves you more than you will ever know/
Your to young to reliaze but mama is fighting depression/
You and your brother are my greatest weapon/
So precious and innocent
Angel like skin , big brown eyes, enough personality for the both of us/
Watching you grow scares me
I am a gardener/
I planted the seed and God gave me you/
Sweet precious you/
Now it's my job to shower you with knowledge and make sure you get enough sunlight so that you can blossom into something great/
But how can I teach you when no one stopped to smell the roses nobody bothered to water me./
Like a petal less rose/
He loves me/
He loves me not/
Me and daddy argue a lot it's hard to to explain when your in so deep/
emotions stuck on repeat/
I figured if I tell you what not to do, your pure mind will keep you in line/
You will be great/
Though your mother a passive aggressive used young mother of two who can't face her past because she scared and to weak to fight/
Empty inside/
Even though your mother was a how searching for affection only to end up undressed/
None of that matters /
You will be great/
Dear Lyric your two year old brain might find it strange that mama makes you look at your reflection and tell your self /
" I am a black queen"/
You are two year old black queen/
There is no secret you are a phenomenal woman in the making/
No I don't trust the world full of fatherless son to raise up the man who will worship her/
It will be me drilling it into you to not accept nothing less/
You will be taught all men have a motive/
They'll complain I'm raising another bitter black woman/
But I be damn if I raise a needy man seeking girl./
You will not be naive /
You will not be me/
You will stand tall and be proud of your skin/
You will walk with a confident stride /
Knowing the power you hold and not the power in between your hips/
But the power in your mind/
You will not use love to fill emptiness/
You will not be me/
Lyric Michelle Rose Washington you will be great/
The woman needs to be submissive /
Dear Lyric
That will not be you/
You will worship one God zeros Man/
You will walk with your head up high/
You will work hard not depending on anyone/
You hand will never ask for something/
You will be great /
Harriet Tubman you will lead/
Rosa parks you will proudly say no/
Michelle Obama you will hold your own/
Beyoncé knowles you might just be a black bill gates in the making/
Dear lyric /
Life won't be a cup of tea /
But momma will always be here /
Watering you so can blossom into something great
