Dear Me

Dear Me,

Pain eroded your spirits

Tears drowned your face

and happiness fled from you

You thwarted loved ones

Finding comfort in solitude

But your thoughts encroached

You yearned for help

Wishing to be rescued from your yourself

pleading for a new life

but you were entrapped

Trapped like that night

crying for someone...anyone

forced to see the realities of the world

stripped of your innocence forever

Now you feel indifferent

uninterested in life

unable to embrace love

plagued by unprecedented defeat

You lament what once was

wanting to truly live with purpose

breathe with patience

feel with passion

love with placidity

RELEASE ME, RELEASE YOU, RELEASE US

For we cannot flourish until you do so

Until we accept

Until we forgive

Let the tears of the past water you into actualization

Sprouting you into anew

Into the true you.
