Dear Me

It's your last year of high school

You should feel happy to be so close to freedom

Yet, sudden dread sets in instead

As if something has gone left unsaid

Is there something wrong?

Is something bothering you?

Have you forgotten the excitement

The excitement of leaving to college and being free to live your life

Or is it something more?

Have you realized that you are filled with fear

Fear of not knowing what will happen next

The fear of messing up so much you'd be embarrassed to show your face

Let me be the first to tell you, don't be

I know you better than anyone else in the world

You are strong, smart, daring, and wonderful

Don't let the fear stop you from taking the world

And make it your own.

You've got this

I promise

Sincerely, You.
