Dear Me
Dear Me.
You are beautiful.
You are successful and brilliant and worth it all.
You are a masterpiece.
You are not alone.
Dear Me.
You are nothing.
You are a fleck of dust on a rock.
Spiraling through space.
Forgotten to the world as you race to prove
That you are worth something.
Dear Me.
The world is full of light.
You are on the brink of a new chapter
And each new experience
Is better than the last.
Dear Me.
I wish it was darker outside.
The bed beneath us is a narrow plane,
And I think that it would be in our best interest
If we didn’t leave it today.
Dear Me.
You’re going to make it.
You have everything you need.
You’re just fine the way you are.
Dear Me.
Put down that pizza.
Eat a few carrots.
Try to shed a few pounds, or fifty.
You are disgusting.
Dear Me.
Ignore her.
Ignore that voice pecking at your skull
And come outside,
They’re life to be had.
Dear Me.
You are so alone.
No one will want you.
Not when your chin is doubled,
Or when your thighs touch.
Dear Me.
Just eat the pasta, you look pale.
Don’t you know that your curves are beautiful?
Don’t you know that you are lucky not to be a twig that starves
For an Instagram picture or a night out?
Dear Me.
What would you know about dates?
You’ve never had one.
What would you know about beautiful?
Don’t you see yourself?
Dear Me.
You don’t need to think this.
You are healthy and you are you.
You don’t need that darkness
You need nothing more than what you have.
Dear Me.
Stop kidding yourself
And wake up.
Dear Me.
Keep Dreaming.
Don’t tell yourself that its silly.
Dear Me.
Are you hearing this?
Dear Me.
You’ll be just fine.
