Dear Me From The Past,
Dear Me From The Past,
Honey, no, you aren’t fat.
Tell how do you believe any of that sickening crap?
Your nose is not big,
and your hips are not wide.
Tell me why did you ever let yourself cry?
Dear Me From The Past,
Please don't be ashamed.
Your body is your temple, let it be reclaimed.
Don’t force a change.
Don’t try to hide.
There are many girls that have felt like you have each night.
Dear Me From The Past,
No, I’m not done yet.
There are people out there that love, why did you forget?
Your mom and your dad,
your sister, your friends.
If someone told them those words, how would you feel then?
Dear Me From The Past,
Imagine yourself as a little girl.
Never forget those dreams of conquering the world.
Don't go back to that place,
I promise you’ll be okay.
Challenge and critique every single word that they say
Because Dear Me From The Past,
All they tell you is lies.
Who cares that you don't have a gap between your thighs?
You don't have photoshop,
Or people telling you what to wear,
So don’t freak out that you don't have the latest hair.
Dear Me From The Past,
I’ll tell you about the future as well,
You become a healthy gorgeous girl who has confidence in herself.
You love your clothes
you’re pure perfection
When you walk into a room you demand the attention.
So I promise you can do it.
And when you do promise me,
That you’ll never let a girl, say the thing about her body like we did.
