Dear Mediocrity
Dear Mediocrity,
I write to you knowing that I am constantly at war with you. I write to you knowing that every time I slip up you take the lead in the race of survival that is the modern world. Do more, be better, be the best; or don't and wilt away. I find I hate you more than ever now that college is looming on the horizons, but the more I think the more I remember all the times you were there for me. Pushing me in school to get more than just a B, pushing me to work harder and smarter, pushing me to lift more run more, pushing me to be better than all my previous versions of myself. You may not be my best friend but are certainly my steady mentor in life.
Thank you for teaching me that life is hard and that's ok because life makes us better.
respectfully,
your humble student,
Lucas Richter
