Dear Michael

Dear Michael,

Reassurance is the worst

And best feeling that any person can ever have.

Some people never change,

Even though you hope and pray that they have.

There's always that one person who you've granted

Forgiveness and grace, hoping they've changed.

Your feelings get in the way and you tell yourself a lie,

And over time, you start to believe it,

But at the same time, you hope that lie isn't true,

That it's not real, that it's just a stupid voice in your head.

But 99.99% of the time, that specific person hasn't changed one bit,

Despite how many times they tell you how they're different.

In believing such lies like these, you realize

That you're hurting yourself more than that person is hurting you.

Thank you for the reassurance,

The Hurt and the Pain.

More than ever, do I know, in my heart,

That you suck, and that you will never change,

No matter how many times you say you have.

Yours truly,

M.
