Dear Mind

Dear Mind,

Why must I trudge

through the sludge of my soul to find you

must it be so easy

to forget you exist

to give you away to the insanity

let you be festered with my desires

oh mind have I lost you?

Forever forgotten, forever exhausted

reliving the same moments

fraught with sad acceptance

yet hoping for some difference

oh mind I have lost you

swallowed by the sludge of my soul

lost to the bubbling black mass

as my hands rip through hair

frantically searching for remnants of sanity

now forced to call the sludge "master"

puppeteer of my thoughts

Dear mind,

You are lost
