Dear Mom

Dear Mom

I have never been the affectionate type,

But mom you don’t know what you mean to me,

so for this, I want to say a few thank you’s that you probably won’t hear.

Here they go,

Thank you, mom, for waking up every day to get me ready for school, when I know you wanted to sleep some more.

Thank you for holding my hand when I was sick, even though I was contagious.

Thank you for being strong when my dad got deported, even when you were broken inside.

Thank you for wiping my tears when my heart got broken the first time.

Even though we both know he wasn’t good for me.

Thank you for letting me go away from home, to make my own adventures, even though you cried because I wasn’t there next to you.

But lastly, thank you for never giving up on me and my dreams, because without you I wouldn’t have had the strength to go forward.

You mean the world to me mom, and all I do is to make you happy and proud.

You are my hero

You are my life

You are my mom.
