Dear Mom,
In a place where there’s nothing but water and land,
and only the trees and animals share this island so grand,
I have this sense of calmness and I completely understand,
that I’ll never feel more content then when lying next to you in the sand.
I have holes in my clothes and technology is out of reach,
but all those things mean nothing because you’re the only thing I need.
When faced with the world that tries to bring me to my feet,
I overcome all fears because you’re there with me.
So what will a book, a phone, or game do,
when the person you love the most is missing next to you?
And when the days are long and I feel like I won’t get through,
I’m okay in this world if it’s forever just me and you.
