Dear Mom

Dear Mom,

Thank you

Thank you for being there through all the hard times

Thank you for singing me to sleep and reading me stories

Thank you for getting me nearly everything I wanted without making me spoiled

Thank you for helping me pursue my dreams

But most of all…

Thank you for making me feel loved when I felt otherwise

Thank you for making me feel beautiful when I was insecure

Thank you for believing in me and my dreams

Thank you for doing that when others didn’t

Thank you for loving me as I love you

Thank you for being a mother

And thank you

Thank you for doing your best even though sometimes it didn’t feel like it

Thank you for being the best mother you could possibly be

And thank you for never giving up

On me

Or on yourself

Signed,

Your loving daughter,

Makalyn Starkweather
